ABOUT US...

Jim VanScyoc, son of Roy and Eileen VanScyoc, grew up on the west side of Columbus, Ohio and attended Warren Avenue Church of the Nazarene.

Jim first started singing with the Impact Team on the Central Ohio Nazarene District and had the opportunity to travel and sing at various locations throughout the United States.  He also formerly sang with The Crusaders out of Grove City, Ohio, as well as with Cornerstone with his good friends, Al Saunders and Danny Remariz.  Al has since gone on to be with the Lord and Danny's ministry continues today in Columbus, Ohio.

When asked why he loves singing gospel music, he says, "singing the Gospel is a small way that I can try to repay my debt back to the Lord for all He's done for me."

Helen VanScyoc and Jim were married in 1988.  Being the daughter of a minister, Robert Erwin, and her mother, Lucille, Helen has had many opportunities to sing.

Helen began playing piano at age 4 and continues playing piano today.  She has recorded several CDs featuring some of the old hymns.  She had the opportunity to play for a gospel group called "Forgiven" out of Nashville, Tennessee, in 1986 and 1987.

In addition to singing and playing piano, Helen has published her book "The Fence - Before, Behind and Beyond" which is her personal testimony.  Through the writing of this book, she has had several opportunities to speak at ladies' conferences and share her story.  She says, "I don't want to brag about what I've done; I want to brag about what He's done."

Darlene White joined Jim & Helen in June of 2008 and has been a blessing to our ministry.

Darlene is the daughter of retired Nazarene pastor, Rev. Chester Sidle, and her mother, Shirley.  She has a daughter, Kim, and she and George have a daughter, Mariah.

In her teen years, Darlene was part of a mixed quartet called "The Silvertones".  She has been involved with praise and worship teams in various Nazarene churches and has played piano for several groups including the former "Laymen Quartet" of Columbus, Ohio.

Darlene loves to sing and share the Lord with others.
